Run And Not Go Weary

30th January

He gives power to the weak and strength to the powerless. Even youths will become weak and tired, and young men will fall in exhaustion. But those who trust in the LORD will find new strength. They will soar high on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint. ”

Isaiah 40:29-31

Our God carries our loads and heavy burdens when we can’t. He does not abandon us to fall by the way side, but instead, He lifts us from the pits we are in, and restores us with His strength. These wonderful prophetic words from the book of Isaiah, are so comforting. They speak of a God who never gives up on us, even when we give up on us. They speak of a God who resources never run dry. His mercies and grace and new each morning. He is the God in whom we can fully trust. When we literally have no strength to carry on, we can fall back into His arms, knowing He will catch us, hold us and restore us. Even ‘youths’ perhaps refers to those we wouldn’t expect to get tired and fall. Yet God is saying, He is there for all, if we just put our trust and hope in Him. It is ok to be vulnerable before Him. In His hands is the safest place we can be.
